I have a recently rebuilt D600 running XP Prof XP3 full patched. The machine was a clean build on a new disk about 2 months ago and all has been working well (excepting the Fujitsu HDD which seems to be going bad as I type, but that's a different issue!).i was offer via Microsoft Update: 'Dell driver update for Dell TrueMobile 1300 WLAN Mini-PCI Card' 2 days ago (mid August 2009). Everything is working now except the WiFi does not get on the web. I have a strong signal, and it says Connected, but also says 'Limited Connectivity'. Another laptop works fine on this same wireless router, so I know it is a problem with the machine. Dell Latitude D600 Network Connection Fails

problem with my Dell Latitude D600 Laptop,I tried re-installing my OS, so now with a fresh new OS the wireless capabilities worked fine, but only for the first day, then the next morning the whole problem began again. Now it would say ' No supported wireless adapters found' and when i would open the device manager some devices would have the yellow exclamation point, some of the devices would say 'Intel PCIC compatible PCMICA controller' and ' PCMICA MTD-0002' or just 'card bus controller' and many other ones that would alternate when they appear. And also sometimes my network adapters would completely disappear from the list. I also tried scanning my whole drive for viruses and nothing was found.
Then i found that if you disconnect the wireless adapter physically and re connect it, it might work, but it didn't. I should also add that before this problem for some time i had another problem with the same laptop that had to do with the battery malfunctioning, and it displays a 4 orange , 1 green pattern sequence on the LED charge display. But it had never affected any of the laptops hardware or software before, so I don't know if that might have anything to do with it.

i have a Dell Precision T3500 tower running Windows 7 Ultimate. This was built and shipped in March 2011 equipped with a EMEA Dell Wireless 1520 PCIe card, which has a wireless antenna attached to the port. The PC is about 30ft from the wireless router, a BT Home hub.From outset I noticed that I was gettimng very slow connection speeds to the internet, but supposed this was because our broadband was using a standard BT line with copper cables, and we are some 3 miles from the BT exchange. I was getting speeds of around 300-500kb/s. BT have just finished installing BT Infinity in my area, offering 'up to 40mb/s' speeds. I upgraded on Friday of last week.
Here's the problem: we have three laptops in the house and they are now all getting between 15mb/s-20mb/s speeds, including my Dell Inspiron laptop which is using a Dell Wireless 1501 Mini Card to connect wirelessly. Sat next to this laptop is my Precision tower, with the wireless antenna. However, the PC is getting a speed of only 3mb/s.The modem and router are obviously working fine. Forget 40mb/s, I am quite happy with 15mb/s. But why is the PC wireless speed so poor?. For a brief five minutes or so on Friday the PC DID get 15mb/s but not since then. I cannot see any way to configure the wireless card to increase the speed.I tried disabling the Dell network adaptor, and installed and plugged in a Belkin USB wireless adaptor (on which my wife's PC had achieved 15mb/s) but this slowed the wireless even more - to around 100kb/s.

I have tried the F2 + Function key several times, I've rebooted and tried to search possible solutions. My other laptop is connected to my router just fine, so I am sure it is just a computer issue. I have recently gone as far as restoring my computer to its 'factory' state to try and combat this issue.
Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is much else I can do at this point - the issue has not been resolved.
I re-installed factory drivers for my adapter, then replaced those with updated drivers from Intel. I was 'alright' for a while, but have had to launch Device Manager to re-enable the adapter, or restart my computer entirely because it failed to display my adapter at all. At this point, I get no result with either.
I have tried to 'recognize' the adapter as a new device (added hardware), but that didn't solve anything - it duplicated it in Device Manager and then displayed the yellow exclamation point indicating it needed new drivers - I attempted to update but it displayed an error, so I ended up uninstalling the duplicate.
At this point, I feel like it's the hardware that is the problem, and not my computer's ability to recognize it. Though I have been able to connect to my network in the past, its ability to function would be patchy, at best, if I could get it to work at this point. Should I try to reset/replace my wireless card, or is there something else I can try?
My 'network card' is fine, according to a diagnostic, and my Bluetooth works fine.

I'm on a home computer and we use a router to deliver internet connection to the multiple computers in our house.However, lately I have been noticing that occasionally one of the computer's, on the network, internet connection drops but yet all the other computers are still working fine with their internet connection. And the internet doesn't completely turn off, like there is no 'X' on the two computer screens down below..it just loses its little globe icon..In order to get back the internet, you would have to basically disconnect from the internet connection network and then go back into it and it's back again.
I was wondering, because I'm starting to get suspicious, is it possible that somebody on the network in my house the deliberately found a way to turn of the internet access for one of the computers? I was alerted by checking different websites that it is possible that somebody on your own home network can 'hack' into another computer, view its internet history, and even disable internet. How do I know this is happening for sure and take steps to stop it. I want to catch who is doing this because nobody is telling the truth .

Dell :: Inspiron N5110 - Wireless Adapter Won't Turn On?

i have a dell inspiron N5110 which has developed YET AGAIN another problem
The wireless doesnt pick up any networks and it says the wireless adaptor has been switched off.
PS i have checked wndows mobility centre and the wireless adaptor enable button is greyed out.

Just purchased refurbished Inspiron 15 Intel N5050. I know about Function-F2 and the wireless switch is on, but I can't get any wireless to work. I have tried to download drivers but they can't find the wireless card either. However, when I put the service tag in, it says I have the wireless card. The service tag is <ADMIN NOTE: Service tag removed per privacy policy>.
When I go to Device Manager, other 'other devices,' Network Controller shows up as not having a driver installed. However, the network adapter shows up just fine.

Dell :: Studio XPS 1340 - Turn On Wireless Capability

I have a Studio XPS 1340. Running Vista. Sat evening I was on the net, and had left the machine for a while. I refreshed a page using F5 after 10 mins inactivity, and the WIFI had dropped. I have the Dell Wireless 1515 Wireless N adaptor. I cannot find any wireless networks, and the error message I get is to 'Turn on wireless capability'.
On the Studio XPS 13 there is no wireless switch, to turn on/off the wireless. I've tried to turn on the wireless using Fn + F2, and I have also unchecked the 'allow computer to turn off this device to save power.' box. rebooted any further suggestions? I've disabled and enabled the wireless network card a couple of times, drivers seem to be working correctly. when I try to update the drivers I'm told they are the most up to date drivers available.
Might this be McAfee related? Have I inadvertently turned off the wireless using a shortcut key by accident?

My wireless internet has been working perfectly well on my XPS 17 (L701X) until last weeky. I was on the internet and then my wireless turned off suddenly. the error message says 'turn wireless capability on'. BUt on the wardware, the witch is on, but when I check windown mobility center, it shows 'wireless off' . Ran network diagnostics, but same error massage 'turn wireless capability on'. For now, when it happens, I need to restart my computer and it back to nomal. This happens at least 3-4 times a day.
